The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry (1900 - 1944) is a modern fairy tale and is considered a classic all over the world. The narrator, a pilot, tells how he meets the little prince after an emergency landing with his plane in the desert. The wise and enchanting stories that the Little Prince tells about the planet where he lives with a haughty flower, about the other planets he visits with their strange inhabitants and about his battle with the bad seeds, make the Little Prince a delightful and unforgettable figure.
Antoine de Saint Exupéry was a French writer and aviator. He wrote The Little Prince a year before his death. While serving for the Allies, he was shot down by a German fighter pilot over the Mediterranean in 1944 during the Second World War after a reconnaissance flight over occupied France.
For this concert, Nino Gvetadze programmed music by Debussy, Dvořák, Van Beethoven, Piazolla and Mozart for all planets. Andrea Droes provides matching images to bring the different planets of the story to life.
