FILM - Les uns et les autres

Filmhuis Lumen programmed Claude Lelouch's digitally restored classic Les uns et les autres especially for the Delft Chamber Music Festival. This award-winning film follows the lives of four musical families and their children between 1936 and 1980, the year in which the American Glenn and Suzan, Simon and Anne from Paris, the German Karl and Madga and the Russian couple Boris and Tatjana meet at a UNICEF -gala. The music is what connects the characters – who work in jazz, variety shows, classical music and ballet – despite the major differences in their lives. The love for music brings all the characters together in the dazzling finale, with a performance of Ravel's Boléro choreographed by Maurice Béjart.
